I had the chance to visit United States supporting production plants on robotics and automation topics.
I came with the usual mindset—expecting to solve problems, step in where needed, and maybe teach a few things along the way…
For most of my career, I carried a secret I never talked about.
Every time I traveled to support another production facility, every time someone introduced me as a “Process Specialist” or “Robotics Expert”… I had the same thought running in the back of my mind:
As a child, it was pure imagination.
I had no knowledge, no technical background, just curiosity. My mind invented cartoon-like fantasies of how things must work inside: gears spinning endlessly, belts pulling with rhythm, pistons firing, invisible forces humming below the surface.
In the world of industrial robotics, I’ve noticed something strange-something almost emotional.
Engineers and programmers, people who work with logic and precision, will often say things like:
“I hate ABB.”
“I only work with Fanuc.”
“Cartesian robots aren’t even real robots.”
And every time I hear that, I pause.
